Croeso i Flwyddyn Pedwar!
Welcome to Year 4!
Please visit our Year 4 web page regularly to keep up to date with the latest news and information.
Hello Year 4. We hope you have been keeping safe and well. Well done with all the work you have been completing on SeeSaw. We're really looking forward to welcoming you back to school from the 29th June. Things are going to be a bit different to normal but please don't worry, it will be lovely to be together again to check in and catch up. Here's a sneaky peak of the classrooms at the moment:
This half term we have been learning all about 'Volcanoes'. You have been making a great effort to complete the literacy and topical work on SeeSaw and have learnt some great facts.
Learning from home
Some good websites to support your learning can be found on the KS2 grid of activities on the link below. There are many ideas to support Literacy and Numeracy as well as other curriculum subjects.
Book Bags / Reading
Please continue to read with your child at home, it is so important to read both fiction and non fiction books and to encourage your child to talk about what they have read asking questions to develop this further. Oxford Owl currently have a variety of ebooks that children can read, you just need to register to access this great resource.
Set your child challenges with high frequency words and every day words to keep up with your child's reading, writing and spelling skills. Maybe you could add some tricky words in as well! Here's an example list of the high frequency words we practise in school.
We understand the difficulties of the current situation at the moment but we would still encourage physical activities that you and your child can do at home. There are lots of fun activities online and also, if possible, outdoor activities and games you can all take part in safely together.
We will still be uploading activities on SeeSaw because you wont be back in school full time, so keep an eye out for these and do your best to complete as many as you can.
Please find below a link to Year 4's Roman homework grid.
There is also a Key Stage 2 grid of ideas for pupils and a list of story starters to use whilst they are at home.
