Land Ahoy!

Arrr, me hearties. It's a sailor's life for me!

Get your sea legs on, it's time to sail the salty seas.

  • Navigate, investigate and explore the world - just like Captain Cook.
  • Make a boat, sink a ship, fly a pirate flag.
  • Speak like a pirate, write like a poet, weigh and measure the pirate's booty!
  • How do sea rescues happen? Find out about brave volunteers and young Grace Darling, rowing her boat across the stormy seas.
  • Sing a sea shanty while cleaning the deck and search the school grounds for Captain Longbeard's hidden treasure.

That's land ahead, me buckos! Let's get t'ship t'port.

We have attached a copy of this term's homework sheet for you and the children. We ask that all children complete at least one of the activities. Can all homework projects be in school by Friday 12th April 2019.

Snack

In Foundation Phase the children are provided with snack. Please send in £7 each half term in an envelope marked with your child's name.

Book Bags

The children are encouraged to read books at home and are asked to regularly return their books when they've completed them. We change reading books on a Friday. Please ensure that all books are returned in the school book bag.

P.E.

In Year 2 we will be having P.E. every Monday afternoon. Please can you ensure that your child has suitable kit in school clearly labelled with their name and that it is returned after every half-term holiday.

Spellings

Every Monday your child will be given a set of new spellings that relate to the book that they are working on, which they will be tested on on the following Friday. We encourage the children to learn their words every day.
